The 2026 print edition of Hacker's quarterly issue has already reached its third. In this new magazine, we've compiled the best materials from recent months, with routers and networks being one of the main topics: our authors extract root shells from password-less routers, investigate a provider with a poorly isolated network, and build a configuration for simultaneous operation with multiple networks.
For those who missed it, a reminder: this year, Hacker returned to a regular print format. Four times a year, we publish a full-fledged, 240-page glossy magazine featuring the best articles from the past months: practical guides, technical analyses, research, reverse engineering, vulnerability exploitation, hardware, development, and much more.

#3: Routers, LLM, and Web Penetration Testing
The third quarterly issue has just left the printer and is ready for shipping.

In this third issue, our authors not only explore networks and routers, but also run code inside a TrueType font virtual machine, master Burp Suite, and select tools for pentesting large language models.

As usual, we've collected the best practical guides, technical analyses, and experiments under one cover.

Among the articles:

  • The autopsy revealed it. We accessed the router's root shell without knowing any passwords.
  • ttf. Run the code in the TrueType font virtual machine.
  • Burp Suite from the Beginning: Taking Your First Steps in Web Penetration Testing.
  • Eating AI brains. Selecting tools for LLM pentesting.
  • b1001 hacker utilities. We're putting together tools for pentesting.
  • And much more interesting things.
Buy issue #2: the bonus magazine about Standoff
The second quarterly issue is another installment in the limited-edition Hacker series for 2026. This issue arrives in a branded box that protects it during travel (and for some reason, you don't want to throw it away after unpacking it). Inside, you'll find a bonus—a separate issue dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the cyberbattle Standoff.

Among the articles:

  • Connected by a single network. We examine the Meshtastic distributed protocol, its cryptography, and its bugs.
  • Web fuzzing from the ground up. Learning to crawl directories and search for hidden files on websites.
  • Claude is leading the investigation. We use AI for automated decompilation.
  • Go coding! Let's start learning Golang without boring books.
  • The Heretic Returns. We're exploring how LLM's new decensoring method works.
Buy the second issue #1: the beginning of the paper series
It was with this issue in 2026 that the new quarterly Hacker series began. Inside are over 20 practical guides, research, and technical analysis: from hashcracking and Nmap to the innards of PE files and the unusual design of Bjorn.

The print run is limited, but copies of the first issue are still available. If you're planning to collect the complete Hacker series for 2026, you can't do without it.

Among the articles:

  • Hashcracking practice. We measure the speed of hash cracking with different software and hardware, and examine the hardware principles of brute-force testing.
  • Nmap from the ground up. Mastering reconnaissance and network scanning.
  • We examine a vulnerability in the popular React framework.
  • DIY Binary. Creating a PE file with a Windows windowed application.
  • Pocket Viking. Meet Bjorn, an unusual device for hackers and pentesters.
Buy the first issue of Four issues at once
If you don't want to collect the issues one by one, you can order a set of all four quarterly issues of Hacker for 2026 at once.

The first three magazines are ready and will be sent to you almost immediately. The fourth issue will appear towards the end of the year and will be sent separately when it's published.
